The PCE-MFM 2400+ is a handheld high-precision gauss meter and tesla meter engineered for measuring static DC magnetic fields across four switchable ranges, from the fringe fields of small permanent magnets up to the strong fields of industrial magnet assemblies. Positioned as a magnetometer, magnetic field detector, electromagnetic field meter, electromagnetic field analyzer, electromagnetic radiation detector, and EMF measuring device in a single instrument, the PCE-MFM 2400+ gives R&D teams, QC labs, and production lines one tool to characterize magnet strength, verify assembly orientation, and screen for stray fields around motors, transformers, and ferrous components.
Covering 0–200 mT, 200–2,400 mT, 0–2,000 G, and 2,000–24,000 G with an accuracy of ±1% of reading and a resolution of 0.01 mT / 0.1 G, the PCE-MFM 2400+ pairs an axial Hall-effect sensor on a 2 m (6.6 ft) cable with a backlit 4-digit digital display. Readings can be captured instantly or frozen on screen using the built-in hold mode, and the meter automatically shuts down after 5 minutes of inactivity to preserve the single 9 V block battery.
At 185 × 97 × 40 mm (7.28 × 3.82 × 1.57 in) and 310 g (under 1 lb), the PCE-MFM 2400+ fits in a tool bag or drawer alongside other handheld test gear, and the bundled service bag keeps the Hall probe protected between measurements.
Four switchable ranges let the PCE-MFM 2400+ resolve low-field readings near 0.01 mT while still handling the 24,000 G (2,400 mT) fields produced by rare-earth magnets and industrial magnetic separators. Users can read in either milliTesla or Gauss with a single unit toggle, removing the need for manual conversion during inspection or documentation.
The axial Hall-effect sensor terminates in a roughly 2 m (6.6 ft) cable, giving technicians the reach to probe inside fixtures, tooling cavities, and assembled components without repositioning the entire meter. Measurement mode keeps the display live for tracking changes as the sensor moves, while hold mode snapshots a reading for manual logging.
The PCE-MFM 2400+ operates from 0 to 50 °C (32 to 122 °F), tolerates storage from -20 to 50 °C (-4 to 122 °F), and runs off a single 9 V block battery with automatic 5-minute shutdown, which makes it equally suited for a QC station, a maintenance toolkit, or a research bench.
