The PCE-PIC 40 is a professional-grade pipe inspection camera system built for plumbers, HVAC technicians, and facility maintenance teams who need to see inside pipework, ductwork, and conduits without costly excavation or disassembly. Equipped with a 40 m (131 ft) fiberglass push cable and a compact 23 mm (0.9 in) camera head, the PCE-PIC 40 navigates pipes from DN 40 to DN 150 mm (1.6 to 5.9 in) while delivering real-time video to a crisp 7″ color LCD display.
Whether deployed as a drain camera for sewer line diagnostics, a videoscope for industrial bore inspection, or a snake camera for tight HVAC runs, the PCE-PIC 40 captures video, photos, and audio directly to an SD card (up to 32 GB). An on-board keyboard lets technicians add text annotations to recordings on the spot, eliminating the need to cross-reference hand-written notes later. An electronic meter counter tracks cable deployment in real time, so damage locations can be pinpointed precisely for repair crews.

The camera head on the PCE-PIC 40 is waterproof to 20 m (66 ft) and illuminated by 12 dimmable LEDs with a 120° field of view, delivering clear imagery even in dark, submerged pipe sections. A 1/3″ Sony CCD sensor outputs at 720 × 576 pixels, and the system supports both PAL and NTSC video standards. The braked cable reel prevents uncontrolled feed-out, and the 90° minimum bend radius at Ø 45 mm (1.8 in) keeps the head moving smoothly through elbows and transitions.
Power comes from an integrated 7.4 V / 5,400 mAh Li-Ion battery pack for truly portable operation, with included mains (110–240 V AC) and 12 V car charger adapters for recharging in the shop or on the road. The entire system (display unit, cable reel, and accessories) ships in a rugged IP66-rated carrying case that mounts directly onto the reel for compact transport, with overall dimensions of just 55 × 43.5 × 34.5 cm and a weight of approximately 13 kg (28.7 lbs).
