The PCE-VE 370HR3 is a four-way articulating industrial borescope built for non-destructive inspection (NDI) at depth. It works equally as a videoscope, industrial endoscope, snake camera and surface-testing inspection camera, giving maintenance engineers, manufacturing and automotive technicians, aviation inspectors, plumbers and HVACR professionals one tool for diagnosing problems in hard-to-reach places. A 6.0 mm (0.24 in) camera head on a 3 m (9.8 ft) cable travels deep into walls, pipes, vents, ducts, engines and machinery, avoiding costly and time-consuming dismantling.
Reach is what sets the PCE-VE 370HR3 apart. With three times the cable length of the 1 m (3.28 ft) PCE-VE 370HR, it is the better choice for long duct runs, pipe sections, wall cavities and large machine housings where the target sits well beyond the access port. PCE specifies the 3 m cable as flexible, so it follows bends in the path on the way in.
Four-Way Tip Control at the End of a Long Run
Once the probe arrives, the four-way articulating camera tip lets you look up, down, left and right without pulling back and re-feeding 3 m (9.8 ft) of cable. PCE lists a bending radius of 90 mm (3.54 in). The CMOS sensor covers a 67° field of view, with a depth of field from 1.5–10 cm (0.59–3.94 in) for close examination of corrosion, cracks, deposits, blockages and loose parts.
Lighting and Imaging for Dark Cavities
Automatic LED illumination, a boost function for better image quality in the dark, and up to 2x digital zoom help you read detail deep inside an assembly. The live image appears on an 88.9 mm (3.5 in) TFT LCD monitor at 30 frames per second. PCE rates the waterproof camera head IP 67: dust tight, with protection against immersion up to 1 m (3.28 ft).
Recording and Reporting
The PCE-VE 370HR3 saves JPEG images at 640 x 480 pixels and ASF video at 320 x 240 (MPEG 4 compression) directly to an SD memory card. The supplied 8 GB card can be increased to 32 GB, and files move easily to a PC through the Mini USB 1.1 interface. AV out (NTSC / PAL) supports viewing on an external monitor.
Built for the Field
The handheld unit measures 207 x 118 x 37 mm (8.15 x 4.65 x 1.46 in) and weighs 450 g (1 lb) with its carrying case. It runs on a rechargeable 3.7 V lithium-ion battery and is specified for operation and storage from -10 to 50 °C (14 to 122 °F). Not for medical use.
